Cedar Waxwing Bird

These are the kind of things that excite me.  For the first time ever I viewed Cedar Waxwing Birds in the wild & they happened to be in a tree in our yard.  They travel in flocks of about 40, which is how many there seemed to be. They are striking.  I took photos and this was the best one I got so I also included a close up off of the web so you can get an idea of how unusual they are with their distinctive black mask and pointed hood.   It has been a long time since I painted a Waxwing.  It was on a wooden box that I sold years ago.  I'll have to paint another this winter.
